Eugene came back today to do wedding things but I managed to sneak him out for a few hours of lake o trolling- his first time out!
Well the weather wasn't the best at the start but the winds did die down a tiny bit as the morning progressed. We fished from 6 till 9:20am. He had to go back in for an appointment. In those few hours we managed 3 for 7. It was a pretty good morning. He got his first fish on a spoon set down 57ft in about 120 ish FOW, I don't recall exactly. After two lost fish and a shaker, I got into a fish. It was about 20lbs, coming off the dipsy diver, at about 200 back on a 3 setting. It was on a spin doctor and fly combo.
After retuning to dock and dropping Eugene off, I decided to head back out since I still had time to kill before work. Boy am I ever glad I did. From 10-11;45, I didn't manage a sniff. But as I trolled back to end the day. A rod went off while I was fixing my go pro camera. It was a good fish, pulling lots of line. 6 mins into the fight, my other rod goes off!! A double header and I'm all alone!!! See the video for the craziness. It was fun! And after setting back up again, I hooked into another 3 fish in 30 mins. My first double header ever. The double hit my mc rocket and fly on spin doctors. Mc was set 60 down, 50 bak. Fly was 110 down and 100 back.
Weather: strong north winds which barely made it tolerable. Thankfully it died down as the day went on...
An early start to the day.
