Having the Sunday off and Kelvin too, we decided that it would be a good day to fish for some bass since the winds were a bit high for Lake O. Plus it was a Saturday, which meant hoards of people! With minimal sleep, Kelvin, Jacky and I met up at 1:10am for some food before loading up and setting off for our destination. The location was about 2 hours away from home. We arrived at the lake while it was still dark. But that gave us time to load up the boat and check out the place since I haven't been here for YEARS.
The water was pretty calm, a tad bit of fog. The topwater lures only produced a few bloops but nothing hit and landed.
We moved off the shore and started casting out in the deeper water with cranks and spinnerbaits, seeing if there were any active fish around. We plucked away a few dinks.
After when the sun fully came out, the winds picked up. It was a 15-20k wind with gusts of 35 from the north. We went for cover behind the many islands. With the strong winds, little sleep, and unfamiliar territory, we had a not so stellar day. We decided to end the day early at around noon and head back. Only hitting about half a dozen of small bass, it was a disappointing day but I would like to return here to redeem myself one day..
Below is a picture of probably one of the better fish of the day.
