Numa Tactical Sport Optics
So... I've been without a decent pair of sunglasses for a long time.
I've been always buying the cheapo $15-25 pairs but they never lasted. Either because I'm abusive to them or because they are crap. Most likely a combination of both.
A few weeks back, I was passing through Gagnon's sports over in Oshawa and noticed a brand called Numa in their sunglasses section. They looked pretty good and were big enough for my big head but I couldn't pull the trigger since I didn't know much about the company. After doing a tad of research online, most people liked them. They are supposed to be super durable and be able to withstand some tough conditions/treatment.
So I went back over to Gagnon's a week later and picked up a pair of Numa Chuck with the copper polarized lens.
So far so good.
What do we mean by “unbreakable eyewear”?
Numa warrants that under normal wear and tear, the frames will not break. (See our Limited Lifetime Warranty for full details.)
What is “normal wear and tear”?
“Normal wear and tear” includes but is not limited to: scaling a cliff face, downhill mountain biking or skiing, parachuting, hiking rugged terrain, dropping your Numas on a hard surface, accidentally stepping or sitting on them, and even letting your toddler play with them.
I have been taking slightly better care of these sunglasses since they did cost me $100, instead of just $20, but they haven't had any issues yet. I did try to flex the frame to see if that would crack it but it passed that test.

In the box it comes with a cleaning cloth bag and a hard case for the sunglasses.
Here are a few shots of the glasses and pictures taken through the lens of the glasses.

Tough-Flex(TM) Frame Material
When JB was searching for the frame material that would make his eyewear as tough as the rest of his gear, he discovered Tough-Flex, an extremely lightweight and flexible Swiss memory fiber originally engineered for use in molding ski-boot buckles. With that history, it is no surprise that Numa's Tough-Flex frames can withstand extremes of temperatures, from arctic cold to desert heat without degradation. It is stiff like plastic when at rest, but flexes under pressure, torque or flexion, and so will not break under impact or other conditions of duress. Whether they are crushed in your pack or dropped from a height, your Tough-Flex frames will be there when you need them. The advanced characteristics of this material, together with our dedication to the highest level of design and quality standards, place Numa at the cutting-edge.In the box it comes with a cleaning cloth bag and a hard case for the sunglasses.

And they help me catch more of these....
August 17 Port Whitby Troll
The day started pretty good with a fish on within 5 minutes of setting up the first rod.
The day finished being 5/6.
Fairly calm out there and a tad chilly in the morning until noon, when the sun came out and fried us out there.
6:35 shaker 40 down, 70 FOW spoon
6:50 shaker 40 down, 75 FOW spoon
7:20 shaker 40 down, 75 FOW spoon
8:00 jack dipsey 170 back, 115 FOW fly spindoctor combo
8:50 jack 40 down, 130 FOW spoon
11:45 decent rainbow, 40 down, 325 FOW, spoon, got off.
The temps down 40 was mostly 48-50 degrees, but there was an area where it was 55-57 degrees.
Finished the day at 12:30 and went in for some fooooood.

New video posted - Ice fishing for Lake trout
A new video I made from footage over the winter.
It s a short clip of one of the lakers I caught that day.
I didn`t add any music to the video, should I?
Watch it in HD!

August 3 Fishing the Kawarthas in search of Bass
Having the Sunday off and Kelvin too, we decided that it would be a good day to fish for some bass since the winds were a bit high for Lake O. Plus it was a Saturday, which meant hoards of people! With minimal sleep, Kelvin, Jacky and I met up at 1:10am for some food before loading up and setting off for our destination. The location was about 2 hours away from home. We arrived at the lake while it was still dark. But that gave us time to load up the boat and check out the place since I haven't been here for YEARS.
The water was pretty calm, a tad bit of fog. The topwater lures only produced a few bloops but nothing hit and landed.
We moved off the shore and started casting out in the deeper water with cranks and spinnerbaits, seeing if there were any active fish around. We plucked away a few dinks.
After when the sun fully came out, the winds picked up. It was a 15-20k wind with gusts of 35 from the north. We went for cover behind the many islands. With the strong winds, little sleep, and unfamiliar territory, we had a not so stellar day. We decided to end the day early at around noon and head back. Only hitting about half a dozen of small bass, it was a disappointing day but I would like to return here to redeem myself one day..
Below is a picture of probably one of the better fish of the day.
